The 4th annual Nightcliff SEABREEZE Festival is on again from Saturday 3 May – Sunday 11 May 2008. The Festival focuses on the Nightcliff environment, arts, culture and community. The Festival is a celebration of our unique multiethnic community, our creativity and talents, lifestyle and location. In 2007 over 20,000 people attended 12 events during the 9 day Festival. The 2008 Festival is currently in planning and we invite locals to participate, contribute and support our community Festival.

You are invited to attend the AGM – Annual General Meeting of the Nightcliff Arts Music Culture Incorporated - NAMCI organisers of the Nightcliff SEABREEZE Festival on Monday 10th March at the Nightcliff Sports Club, bistro area at 7pm. Anyone interested in becoming a NAMCI committee executive or ordinary committee member, who are able to give their time and skills toward the directions, operation and ongoing development of the Nightcliff SEABREEZE Festival are most welcome.

All are welcome to attend the meeting. After the formalities of the AGM a general meeting will be held to discuss the 2008 Festival, events and operations. We are seeking enthusiastic people to become involved in the operations of the Festival. A draft Program will be available at the AGM.

SEABREEZE Day - Saturday 3rd May – our big day of FREE festivities for the whole family stretching for 2km along Casuarina Drive foreshore. Calling on community, sports, cultural, dance, musicians and school groups to showcase themselves and get involved in stalls, exhibitions, displays, activities, entertainment and the Parade.

The PARADE – calling all community, sports, cultural, social, dance, musicians and school groups to take part in the SEABREEZE Lantern Parade, decorate a float or march in a group. Muster at the Nightcliff Aquatic Centre from 5pm and check in at the info desk, the parade commences at 5.45pm for the 1km parade to the SEABREEZE main stage on the foreshore. As the sunsets our lanterns will light the way for the evening’s entertainment. Call or email Janie on 0407 194235 or janieandrews@bigpond.com if you need some creative help with your Parade entry.

Call for Sand Sculpture artists - to begin their work on the sand at the big beach from 9am. With an Open section and Kids under 12 section. Judging by 1.30pm before the 4.30pm high tide washes them away.

Call for Visual Artists to make and bring along their works to the SEABREEZE Jetty Art Space by 11am. Afternoon al fresco exhibition with judging at 4pm with winner of Perpetual Lions Club Trophy and $500 prize and $100 Peoples Choice Award announced at 5.30pm.

VOLUNTEERS – we invite you to participate in your community by volunteering to assist with events. Please let us know how you can contribute and participate in event set up and pack up, manning stalls, exhibitions and as on the ground assistants. Your time and efforts will greatly contribute to the success of the Festival.

The Nightcliff SEABREEZE Festival is made possible by the huge contribution and commitment of local volunteers, artists and musicians also many local businesses, schools, organisations, associations, community groups, sponsors and government agencies. Without this support the SEABREEZE Festival could not happen and we thank everyone involved in previous years for their contribution. We look forward to your ongoing support into the future and working together for the community in 2008. We also welcome new participants and contributors to the Festival.
