hi

i am a musician (sax/flute/blues harp/vocals) and have recently moved to darwin from sydney via coffs harbour and am looking for fellow musicians interested in jamming/performing

my musical interests/abilities include blues, R&B, funk, soul, jazz, hip-hop and Irish traditional music

i am a versatile and experienced performer and will be living in darwin for a year or two

keen to find like minded souls to make good music and escape the madness of mitchell street and down-town darwin ... where do all the groovy people gather in this town?

Darwin Jams and Open Mikes

If you have a big band setup, with lots of DIs and instrument mikes then First Sunday Blues (FSB) is the go. Lots of Musos (42 at the last BGM) and a big appreciative crowd. First Sunday of the month at the PINT Club, Mararra. Don't miss the 2pm house band set it is always a highlight. Complimentary drink for each player.

A more intimate jam happens at the Groove every Saturday round 3pm. Happy Yess do a Thursday open mike thing. Of course Nirvana on Tuesdays. Jam sessions and open mike are a grassroots way to contribute to the development of our community's music industry. Rock and Roll!

The best muso jam is the first sunday of every month at the Pint Club Marrara. Its called First Sunday Blues.

31/7/11. Calvin Trumpet Blues RnB Soul cool and trad jazz ...any think as long as its not loud as hell, out of tune and making me bust my chops hahaha

Hi Tim,

You could try going down to the Nirvana Bar every Tuesday night from about 7pm. There's a bunch of muso's that get together for a blues/jazz jam session.
