The biggest platform for emerging, independent and experimental artists in the NT, Darwin Fringe is your community arts Festival with bite.

With around 70 events and experiences, 20+ venues across the city, and hundreds of artists, the Festival is a true showcase of the NT’s creative heartbeat. The program goes on sale in May, offering a wild, wonderful and unfiltered look into the diverse arts community that makes Darwin tick.

More than 70% of shows are presented by hundreds of Northern Territorian artists, from theatre, burlesque, and comedy, to visual art, music and spoken word, the program spans every genre and discipline imaginable—often in ways you won’t expect.

As Australia’s most Northern Fringe Festival, Darwin Fringe offers something truly unique: a grassroots, artist-first celebration that’s as unpredictable and dynamic as the place itself. Being a part of the World Fringe community allows Darwin Fringe to act locally while thinking globally through connections to 200+ arts festivals, spotlighting the immense talent to be found on Larrakia land at an International level.

Darwin Fringe is a hybrid open access platform meaning that we run 3 types of applications to get involved, including Hub and Performance applications which offer subsidised opportunities to perform as a part of the curated program. Artists of all backgrounds and skill levels are encouraged to use the platform to share new work, build skills and connect with excited audiences.
