Sunday Afternoon Dances
We are here to promote Ballroom Dancing for all in the Northern Territory.
Ballroom dancing covers a number of styles such as Modern, Old Time, Latin and New Vogue.
If you are interested in learning, receiving assistance or improving your dancing we may be able to guide or assist you in the correct direction. Note - Cancellation of former Weekly Dance 1 - Due to a range of problems and diminishing numbers attending Malak Community Centre, the weekly Wednesday night dance is now cancelled permanently. Should NTBDA decide to reopen it in the future, that announcement will be notified within this section of Enjoy-Darwin.
LYONS COMMUNITY CENTRE
Due to diminishing numbers, Monday night 29 October 2018, 7.30pm to 9.30pm will be the final weekly dance at Lyons.
Come along for the final three Monday nights (15th, 22nd and 29th Oct 18) for 2 hours of fun, social dancing and supper,
Cost is $5.00 per person.
MALAK COMMUNITY CENTRE - Malak Crescent, Malak
NTBDA returns to MALAK COMMUNITY CENTRE and its wonderful sprung wooden dance floor.
Every Wednesday afternoon from 2pm to 4pm
Cost is $5.00 per person.
Come for 2 hours of fun, social dancing (but no tuition) and afternoon tea on every Wednesday afternoon to the MALAK Community Centre at Malak Crescent, MALAK.
Monthly Dances: NTBDA - Come along on the 2nd Saturday of every month during 2018 to The Harbour Room (next to Christ Church Cathedral) at 2 Smith St, Darwin NT.
These Monthly dances are fun and aim to give all dancers a regular date, time and place to practice and enjoy their dancing and to meet new people. NTBDA also aims to showcase Ballroom and New Vogue Dancing to the broader community and to attract people to, or back to dancing. The dance program will include some 'Come & Try' progressive dances of Jive, Samba, Barn Dances, Evening Three Step where current dancers will pass on skills to others. Other dance steps will include the Cha Cha Cha, Rumba, Modern Waltz, Slow and Quick Rythymn, etc. Sequence dances will include Mayfair Quickstep, Balmoral Blues, Carousel, Swing Waltz and Tangoette.
Please Note: No Stiletto Heels, only dance shoes, or wedge heels, or flat heels that will not damage floor.
NTBDA Saturday Venue - Harbour Room, Christ Church Cathedral, 2 Smith Street, Darwin City on the 2nd Saturday of each month during 2018 from 7:30pm until 11:30pm. Parking in Smith Street, or opposite Administrator's Offices near water-font, or at the back of the building
Ticket Sales: Tickets available at Door, Entry $10:00 per person in cash, or earlier by bank transfer if requested.
At the door, correct money will be appreciated as change is difficult to provide.
