Tiwi Islands Ferry & Day Tours

SeaLink ferries to the Tiwi Islands depart every Thursday and Friday (Apr - mid December) with additional peak dry season Monday departures in June, July and August.

Join the Tiwi By Design day tour and be greeted by your local Tiwi guide upon arrival on the beach at Bathurst Island. See the locals perform a traditional welcome smoking ceremony and totem dances. Enjoy a guided walking tour of the community including the Catholic mission precinct and the culture museum. Spend time with the local artists at Tiwi Design art centre and even screen print your own Tiwi style tea towel or t-shirt to take home.

Alternatively, catch the ferry and walk around Wurrumiyanga at your own pace - no permit required! Visit the art centres, museum and the old church. Buy lunch from the take away shop or grab a sandwich off the ferry and find a shady spot under a tree.
